some of them stars
some were black holes
you were my light
i was something else
we sit on the heaters
because nothing else was there
we make our plans
we shiver home
and shake in and out of the shower
we wear the bedclothes to the supermarket
we have blue skin and stiff knees
we forget to check the mail
but the kettle always boils
we wait.
we sit and watch the world fly by
the stars dangle but they never shine
we dream of fevers and fires and the sunshine
or anything to get us out of here
